Personal or Group Use?

When requesting money from your group, you need to say whether this is for personal use or group use.

Personal use:

  • Rotated or accumulated savings
  • Repayable funds
  • Solidarity funds (gifted)

Group use:

  • Collective purchases (eg. food)
  • Appreciation gifts from the whole group to a group member(s)
  • Anything for the use and benefit of the whole group with no individual recipient

The distinction between group and personal use is to help groups manage their funds more transparently, especially for groups with mixed uses where individuals may request money for themselves and also for the use of the group.
